01. Student Handbook
This handbook is your orientation manualto student placement at MBPH
02. Pre-placement documentation
The following documents are to be submitted into ourplacement portal:
- Vaccination statement from MyGov
- NHHI Hand Hygiene certificate
- Victorian Mask Fit Test certificate
- OnLocation Orientation certificate*
- Swipe card access form (Allied Health only)
03. Student Checklist
This is an online document that you are required tocomplete, sign and submit to confirm you have read thefollowing MBPH Policies and Procedures:
- Code of Conduct
- Manual Handling
- Occupational Health and Safety
- Privacy and Confidentiality
- Respond Grey
- Social Media Use
- Respond Code Red
- Respond Blue
- COVID-19 External Visitor Entry Form.

01. What to bring
- Preceptor logbook (hyperlink) (nursing, midwifery andparamedicine)
- Education Provider placement appraisal + competencies (ifin hard copy)
- Education Provider issued ID or name badge
- Equipment and resources required for placement
02. On arrival
When you arrive onsite for your first day of placement, pleaseenter through the main front foyer*. Use the QR code locatedin the entrance to complete your daily attestation. For nursing, midwifery and paramedicine students make yourway to your allocated unit and announce yourself to the nurseor midwife in charge. For Allied Health students, wait in the main foyer for yourplacement coordinator to greet you.
03. Don Doff competency
This is a competency completed with your respectiveplacement coordinator.
For nursing, midwifery and paramedicine students this willoccur you first Monday at 2.30pm in the Skills Lab.
For Allied Health students this will occur during your morningorientation to the organisation.
About us

Undergraduate Nurse Educator Isabella Gove
Isabella co-ordinates the undergraduate nursing, midwiferyand paramedicine placements across MBPH includingonboarding, orientation and offboarding. She is an experienced Registered Nurse who has workedwithin the Intensive Care Unit and Patient Safety andImprovement team at MBPH prior to joining the ClinicalLearning and Development team in 2023. Her role is to promote a rewarding experience for studentsduring their placement at MBPH.

Allied Health Educator Katherine Rogers
Katherine co-ordinates placements for undergraduate AlliedHealth students; including onboarding, orientation, offboardingas well as organising and facilitating the Allied Health Transitionto Practice Program.
She is an experienced Pharmacist who has worked in bothcommunity and hospital pharmacy; and has a passion forsupporting students on placement in their chosen healthrelated career.
