    ENTERTAINMENT AND COMMUNICATIONS

    Lounge areas for relatives / visitors are located at:

    • Intensive Care Unit
    • Maternity Services
    • Palliative Care
    • Contemplation room

    The contemplation room is always open and is located in the corridors leading to the general wards one to three.

    Televisions are available at each bed and can be connected FREE.

    A representative will visit between Monday – Saturday (2pm to 4pm) to arrange this connection if desired.

    Newspapers are available for purchase from Cafe 34.

    FREE WIFI is available throughout the hospital.

    Food and Drink

    Patient meals

    Meals are served to patients at the following times:

    Breakfast: 7:30am
    Lunch: 12:30pm
    Evening Meal: 5:30pm

    We specialise in preparing meals for people in a health care setting, and strive to meet both nutritional needs as well as cultural, religious and clinical requirements. Our Food Monitor staff members will visit the ward to support you in placing these orders and determining the best meal options for you, in line with your clinical needs.

    Weekdays 7:30am - 5:00pm
    Weekends & Public Holidays 9:00am - 3:00pm

    Services and Amenities

    Pharmacy

    Medications / Pharmacy

    Patients are requested to bring all current medications, both prescribed and over-the-counter, into hospital with them to:

    • Assist in obtaining an accurate medication history
    • Utilise during their stay as needed
    • Ensure an adequate and up-to-date supply on discharge

    Your medication will be stored securely during your stay, and may be administered to you by nursing staff.

    The Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme operates for discharge medications, meaning details of Medicare number, Pension, Concession or Safety Net cards will be required by pharmacy staff, so please have these handy.

    Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm  

    Interpreters

    Interpreter Services are available for those patients who require them. If possible, please notify hospital staff if you are aware of a patient who requires an interpreter during their hospital stay.

    Religion

    Access to religious support services can be arranged. If required please liaise with nursing staff to organise this service.
