02. Pre-placement documentation
- NHHI Hand Hygiene certificate
Documentation must be returned to placements@mbph.org.au by 12 noon the Monday prior to placement commencing. *Please note that additional documents may be requested if your Education Provider has not supplied them. |
03. Student Checklist
This is a fillable form (see below) that you are required to complete, sign and submit to confirm you have read the following MBPH Policies and Procedures:
- Code of Conduct
- Manual Handling
- Occupational Health and Safety
- Privacy and Confidentiality
- Respond Grey
- Social Media Use
- Respond Code Red
- Respond Blue
- prevention & management bullying, harassment, sexual harassment & discrimination
01 What to bring
- Preceptor logbook (nursing, midwifery)
- Education Provider placement appraisal + competencies (if in hard copy)
- Education Provider issued ID or name badge
- Equipment and resources required for placement
02 On arrival
For nursing, midwifery and paramedicine students make your way to your allocated unit and announce yourself to the nurse or midwife in charge.
For Allied Health students, wait in the main foyer for your placement coordinator to greet you.
For students undertaking a Mental Health placement, please present to the Mental Health reception.

About us
Undergraduate Nurse Educator Isabella Gove
Isabella co-ordinates the undergraduate nursing, midwifery and paramedicine placements across MBPH including onboarding, orientation and offboarding. She is an experienced Registered Nurse who has worked within the Intensive Care Unit and Patient Safety and Improvement team at MBPH prior to joining the Clinical Learning and Development team in 2023. Her role is to promote a rewarding experience for students during their placement at MBPH.
Allied Health Educator Katherine Rogers
Katherine co-ordinates placements for undergraduate Allied Health students; including onboarding, orientation, offboarding as well as organising and facilitating the Allied Health Transition to Practice Program.
She is an experienced Pharmacist who has worked in both community and hospital pharmacy; and has a passion for supporting students on placement in their chosen health related career
