International Medical Graduates

Mildura Base Public Hospital is dedicated to supporting International Medical Graduates as they build their careers within our hospital and the Australian health system. Through a welcoming and inclusive workplace, we ensure all clinicians are empowered to contribute their skills and deliver exceptional patient care.

Workplace Based Assessment WBA

The Workplace Based Assessment (WBA) at MBPH is a 12-month assessment program designed for International Medical Graduates (IMG’s) on the Standard Pathway. It is an alternative to the AMC Clinical Examination and successful completion of the program will provide candidates with the AMC Certificate to apply for AHPRA General or Specialist registration.
The program is conducted in accordance with the AMC principles and assesses performance in real clinical environments rather than simulated examination settings. It is the direct observation of IMG’s in their workplace using different assessment tools by multiple accredited assessors in various clinical settings over a 12-month period.
All assessments are based at end of PGY1 level.
