The MBPH Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (AMHWS) supports people experiencing crisis or acute psychological distress or mental ill health at any time day or night.

Families, carers and other supporters can also access support and/or call for advice. Calls are answered 24 hours a day, and experienced mental health staff will speak to you about your support needs. This may include arranging for someone from the hospital to come to see you where you are. Access to this support is via the Mental Health Triage Service.

Triage is the process used to assess and determine a person’s need for mental health treatment, care and support - and the urgency of required responses. It usually involves a brief conversation between the person and a mental health clinician (either over the phone or face-to-face), after which next steps are enacted and the right level of treatment and care can be organised.

From Monday-Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm you can also walk in to seek support or advice from the MBPH Mental Health Triage Service, which is located within the MBPH Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service - Ontario Ave Mildura : Mildura Base Public Hospital : Hospital Map
